ABOUT US
In October of 2020, the opportunity arose for our soon-to-be family of 3 to purchase an existing kennel facility and we jumped at it!
My journey began with foundering Waikato Pound Pups originally known as Animal Re-home Waikato then moving on to my study as an SPCA inspector (Animal Welfare Law and Prosecutions). Since then I have worked in many roles within the industry including head kennel and cattery attendant for New Zealand's leading Quarantine facility, vet nursing, and then completing my study as a KPA CTP dog trainer in 2020.
As a KPA CTP certified trainer and given my previous history with Animals, I felt I had the necessary experience and qualifications to achieve my dream, which was to own a boarding service with a difference.

I wanted to create a supportive environment for dogs and cats transitioning into our care, no matter the length of their visit.
​
Considering environmental, physical and mental stimuli is of the utmost importance, especially in animals spending time in a kennel environment. This truly is the only way of ensuring the full welfare needs of the animals in care facilities are met and I strongly believe this needs to be considered further across this industry.
KENNELS
Our kennels offer a perfect balance between indoor comfort and outdoor exploration.

Perfectly designed to stay pleasantly cool during the summer months, our kennels also offer ample space for your dogs to bask in the sunlight, enjoying their leisure time to the fullest.
​
To ensure utmost comfort, we have a heating system installed at the rear of the kennels. Raised beds provide a cozy place to rest, and fresh water is always readily available, replenished multiple times throughout the day.
​
Each kennel measures approximately 3.5 meters in length and 1.5 meters in width, providing an open view for your dogs.
​
Our boarding dogs enjoy a well-balanced daily routine filled with numerous runs, playtime opportunities, and sufficient rest periods. We offer the bonus of farm walks in the company of other dogs or park visits that are a great way to break up your dogs boarding stay.

Feeding is carried out twice daily or as per individual requirements, ensuring all dietary needs are met with precision.
Our Cattery is a delightful haven, bathed in sunlight, and well sheltered with ample safety and security for your feline friends.
Strategically located away from the kennel area, it offers an abundance of climbing spots, scratching posts, and cozy hideaways for cats to enjoy during their stay.

Within this idyllic setting, cats can lounge in sunny spots, play to their heart's content, or retreat into a cosy corner for a quiet nap.

But what truly sets our cattery apart is our dedicated and compassionate team. We spend significant time in the cattery each day, interacting with each feline guest. We believe in giving more than just basic care; we ensure that each cat enjoys plenty of affection, cuddles, and individualized attention.

We understand the unique behaviors and needs of cats, making sure that their stay is filled with plenty of enriching activities and social interaction. Yet we also respect their need for personal space and rest. We are committed to making our cattery a home away from home for your cherished feline companions.
